The final meeting of the LLOOF project was in SW Ireland on May 22nd and 24th. We also had a Press Day on Monday May 23rd in Bantry. Further details are attached below.
David Puttnam, the Film Director of Chariots of Fire and other great films, has done a short video about the value of e-learning for the LLOOF project.
What are the most important current needs of young farmers in Europe? What are the existing exchange schemes for young people interested in farming, and how can these be improved?
After a year of intense virtual activity, with monthly skype meetings, online planning, presentations from the partners on various aspects of the project, and promotion to interested parties for information and consultation, the 10 WWOOF organisation partner countries of the 'LLOOF' (Living and Learning on Organic Farms) EDVORG project, had their second face to face meeting in September. The LLOOF project is unique in Erasmus terms, being the only project in the funding scheme which has the full quota of 10 partners, and is choosing to distribute funds evenly between the partner countries, despite the disparity of earnings in the different nations involved.
LLOOF conference will take place on Saturday 19th in Italy and you are welcome!
The survey aims to find out what sort of online learning WWOOF members of 10 countries would find useful in terms of organic farming / sustainable living. Survey is launched in 9 European languages: English, Czech, Spanish, German, Serbian, Norwegian, Turkish, Hungarian and Italian. The survey will be available until Jan 8th 2015.
10 prizes are offered for 10 people to get a year's free membership of all of the 10 European WWOOF organisations involved. A summary of the findings will be published on the project web-site, website of the Federation of WWOOF Organisations (FoWO) and web-sites of partners.
